Oasis should be on the top 10? You gotta be kiddin', dude, they are not neither one of the greatest English music artists ever, nor one of the biggest English bands of the last 20 years. Everyone with basic musical education knows that. This list should be titled "The most popular musicians from England" because, frankly, that's what it is. Claiming that The Beatles are the best English rock band is funny, and rating the three-chords proto-punk bands like The Kinks higher than classical composers with high musical education is ridiculous. This list isn't bad at all, but it should be renamed. Or, what I suggest, is to separate artists in three categories: classical music, popular music and traditional / folk music. Otherwise it's like saying that Pele is better player than Ronnie O'Sullivan. Better in what?

Well, the music magazine Rolling Stone ranked Beatles #1 in their list of best artists all time. Next English were Rolling Stones at #4. Same than here. And English classical music? Other than Elgar, it is quite unknown (at least in mainstream).

Where's Handel? He's one of the greatest baroque composers besides bach!
